Culture From My Point of Origin And Acceptable Unique Culture in My Workplace

Culture represents the identity of a certain group of people, and because of their culture, other group of people will understand them better.

In my point of origin, respecting the elders is very important. The “mano”, this is done by putting the hands of the elders on our the forehead as a way of greetings to them.

What i like most in the hospitality of the Ilocanos is that they serve the best thing they got if they have  visitors. The abel Iloco blanket for an overnight stay of their guest. They also butcher a goat or chicken. So through this culture it will contribute an important role in shaping and molding the attitude of a young individual.

Culture From My Point of Origin

Sharing the unique culture in my workplace as a theater artist, during rehearsals, the directors are very strict and the talents are treated like there’s no emotion at all. My director even threw her shoes at me when i cant act according to what the script requires, but its fun though because from there the challenge starts. Sometimes they give you lines to portray and said ,”ok take”. Memorizing the lines, internalizing the character, giving life to the character that the lines requires, in a short period of time? I beg to disagree. But if you are a beginner, pakitang gilas ka dapat.

But despite these  treatments during rehearsals, off the stage and behind the camera, friendly atmosphere prevails and those experiences serves as a learning process and training. Tapping shoulders before we depart and saying, ‘that’s good, improve your craft”.

It is  in theater arts where I developed my punctuality. IF YOU ARE ON TIME, YOU LATE.

What do you think?
